What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that the site you visit sends to your terminal, where they are stored, only to be sent back to the same site on your next visit.

Types of cookies and function

Cookies are differentiated into two types: so-called “technical” cookies and “profiling” cookies.

For these purposes, this type of cookie is not stored persistently on the user’s PC, but rather, vanishes when the browser is closed.

Based on the provision of the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali of May 8, 2014 updated on October 4, 2018 in light of the entry into force of EU Reg. 679/2016, these cookies can be used without the consent of the data subject.

The latter, on the other hand, are used to track the user’s navigation on the web and profile his or her tastes, habits and choices, in order to transmit to the user’s terminal advertising messages in line with the preferences already manifested by the same and recorded in the navigation that has taken place so far.

According to the same measure referred to above and pursuant to EU Reg. 679/2016, for the installation of such cookies can take place only if the user also expresses consent following information in this regard, albeit expressed in a simplified manner.
